Kris, this is a fantastic record. I don’t normally get as excited over best of’s, but this is so well done. New versions of already excellent songs, bringing new perspectives and some excellent new songs to boot. I highly recommend it; anyone that’s thinking “naw it’s just a mash-up of existing songs”, it’s definitely not - buy it, you won’t regret it.

Keening, yearning, captivating and lovely collection of songs, the sense of close performance all the more remarkable when you learn it was made during Covid lockdown in 2020. The ballads and poems set to music on this album might be hundreds of years old, and while they do have an air of immortal, ancient tradition about them, they sound utterly current.
